The Principal of Facade Engineering, Richard Drzewucki has been involved in an extensive range of Melbourne, Interstate and International Projects over the last 35 years. Some of the projects are illustrated in the collage of images on the web page. Each project has been unique with its own challenges - from the development of structural glazing and Frameless Glass Walls in the early days to Project Management of window installation.
Facade Engineering specializes in the design of glass, its supports whether in aluminium, steel, timber or plastic and in the glazing principles involving the latest sealant products.
In Melbourne our involvement in the design of glass or glass and aluminium extends from Collins Place in the east to the Telstra Dome in the West, from the Crown Casino in the south to the Melbourne University in the north. Some of our international projects include the Peninsula Hotel HK, 80 levels of The Centre HK, Changi Airport Glass Atriums, Singapore and numerous Suspended Glass Walls in Malaysia, Singapore and Hong Kong.
The range of glass applications is wide and varied - from the glass roof to glass floors, from glass walls to glass sculptures. Not only does each project require their own unique combination of loadings which may include wind loads, concentrated loads, hydrostatic loads in aquariums and swimming pools and snow loads, human safety issues and injury risk assessments need to be considered. |
